Loss Prevention Investigator

GENERAL SUMMARY: Has a strong knowledge and understanding of The Gap?s Loss Prevention and Investigations procedures. Maintains communications with facility management to assist in operational direction. Assists the Shift Coordinator in maintaining the direction of the department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Auditing and Investigations
Responsible for conducting Inventory Control and operational audits in the following areas: Cross-dock, shipping, receiving, trailer documentation and quality control.
Responsible for initiating internal and external investigation?s based off the above audit results and /or received information from floor associates.
Responsible for assisting field investigators or Regional Managers (stores) on any pending investigations
Responsible for conducting all shortage related audits located in the LP shortage database.
Responsible for the physical security for all facilities
Assists in Pipeline and Brand Protection investigations
Assists in monitoring and responding to all alarms for all facilities.
Performs general Loss Prevention functions (i.e., bag checks and identification verifications)
Assist the Shift Coordinator with the daily operations of the department and facility
Assumes the responsibilities in the absence of the Shift Coordinator/Lead.

 Prevention and Compliance 
Be available to work any shift upon request.
Maintain communications with the LP and Facility Management.
Assure that all daily weekly and monthly responsibilities are completed.
Conduct investigations by interviewing management and other team members. Monitor the CCTV system.  Advise the Loss Prevention Management team of all investigations.
Supervise Sub-ordinates and the Contract security staff.
Assist with all insurance carriers on-site surveys and inspections.
Control all overnight and closed shift trailer activity. Signing and accepting paperwork, logging trailers information and submitting paperwork on next available shift.

 Administration
Coordination of the Loss Prevention and Contract security staff in the absence of management.
General duties such as filing Incident, Investigation and accident Reports along with daily logs. Preparing computer reports on Windows, and Microsoft Office and the LP shortage database.
Assure that sub-ordinates are performing their daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities such as filing, performing their targeted audits and assisting in the initiation of investigations.
Orient new associates as to Gap and departmental policies, procedures and review their job responsibilities weekly.
Plan, delegate, control work assignments and special projects for sub-ordinates.
Train all sub-ordinates in all aspects of their daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Knowledge of Loss Prevention and/or security procedures preferred, but not required
Able to maintain constant awareness of surroundings
Must have good oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated; must be able to work with little supervision 
Must present a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
Any combination of 4 or more years related experience or a bachelor?s degree from an accredited learning institution. 
CPR/First Aid Certification preferred but not required.
Ability to work all shifts and facilities.
