Manager - Design & Education

Job Description:


The Manager of Design and Education works directly with the Store Experience Director in developing compelling and inspirational creative projects while building an educational program to meets Recollections' company goals and objectives.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities: Create a strategic vision of the educational program and be able to plan and implement new ideas for growth.Interpret key design directions into a wide variety of projects.Manage field design submissions and free lance designers to create paper crafting seasonal projects and departments. Produce class curriculum including instructor's guides, students' kits and project instructions. Ensure consistency in messages and positioning in all written material including audience focus within Recollections style guidelines.  While ensuring communication is technically accurate and in line with educational objectives. Create production schedules to meet deadlines of feature sets, curriculum development and in-store communications / implementation.Manage classroom sales goals, communicate and motivate the field. Create and execute all product demo curriculum in the field by working with Merchandising, Inventory Management and Marketing departments to increase sales and product sell -through. Thorough research and usage of Recollections products. Provide cost analysis including resource requirements and pricing recommendations for curriculum. On-going monthly, quarterly, and annual performance analysis.  Weekly sales and financial tracking of educational program.Identify best teaching practices through store Associates.Monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction of educational programs.  Interface regularly with the Store Managers, Associates and Recollections customers.

Job Requirements:
Portfolio review required.5-7 years Marketing/ Communications experience.Demonstrated ability to develop creative materials and projects.Knowledge of paper crafting, scrapbooking industry a must.Superior written and oral communication skills.Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.  Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, PhotoShop & InDesign a plus. BA in Marketing, Fine Arts, Graphic Design or Communications Classroom teaching experience preferred.Retail experience is a plus.Ability to travel to tradeshows, store visits and other events - approximately 10%.
