PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for managing Product Development within specific merchandising web classes to drive sales, profits and increase Target.com's penetration of Target's assortment. Drive the process of keeping Target.com on calendar with Target's Product Development process to increase .com's penetration of Target's assortment. Drive sales and margin through product development, line extensions, sourcing opportunities and vendor opportunities.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Strategic Planning- Working closely with .com merchant partners to define where the biggest opportunities are to help drive sales and profits in their web classes.

Manage communication- Effectively communicate with Target Stores PD&D team, .com Merchants, Target Buyers, TSS/AMC and Negotiation team to drive effective and efficient communication. Develop and maintain strong internal and external partnerships.

Target Product - Drive keeping Target.com on calendar with Target's Product Development process and trend communication. Ensure the .com Merchants are involved in the negotiation process and the process is working.

Product Development- Drive financial results by providing design direction and aesthetic execution of product including: color, fabric/finish standards, print/pattern and materials. Manage the details in the product development process for the merchants, keeping them informed along the way. Product Development can be approached in different ways including Product Development focusing on volume opportunities, Line Extensions of Target's product, Sourcing Opportunities of existing product and Vendor Opportunities generated from TSS.

Leverage TSS/AMC- Uses TSS/AMC on product development initiatives consistent with .com strategies when TSS/AMC is the best resource. Non TSS/AMC resources can be used too.

Trend Merchandising- Demonstrates trend leadership by leveraging corporate resources to provide trend information appropriate to the .com business and communicate in a timely and efficient manner. Stays abreast of market/industry trends.

Supervisory - May manage a team of up to three team members, providing leadership, coaching, motivation and assistance to ensure teamwork and high performance. Also includes managing workload, developing and administering performance reviews, and wage and promotion actions as well as counseling, corrective action and termination when needed.
