Position Overview:

Provide leadership to the field-based marketing team. Enable them to help True Value stores implement marketing best practices to drive retail success. Deliver solutions and processes to enable stores to build, implement, evaluate and improve the impact of their local marketing. Steward the value/benefits of national brand/retail strategy and other corporate initiatives.

Responsibilities:

? Develop the goals, processes and staff to enable stores to build balanced, successful, sales-driven marketing plans
? Develop the processes and staff to provide leadership and consultative support to groups of stores who decide to market together
? Work closely with the Director of Marketing Information & Insights and with other project sponsors to facilitate successful beta tests in regional store groups. Ensure support is garnered from the Field Marketing team, Retail Development and member stores to optimize retail execution and test results
? Formulate and manage the annual Field Marketing budget and control the financial activities of the Field Marketing team. Provide strategic recommendations about allocation of resources to meet the business needs of the co-op
? Build strong working relationships with Retail Development, helping them to become advocates for balanced, sales-driven retail marketing planning
? Develop processes to keep a field-based team engaged, knowledgeable and supportive of corporate and marketing goals, strategies, results and direction

Qualifications:

? Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing or Business required. MBA preferred
? 5-10 years in Field or Retail Marketing or a combination
? Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
? Organized with strong attention to detail
? Strong problem solving and people management skills
? Ability to develop strategic partnerships
? Ability to envision and lead change
? Proven ability to lead a field-based team
? 50-60% travel required
