We currently have the following exciting opportunity available in our Virginia Beach office:

Job title: Merchandise Planner
Dept.: Merchandise Planning/Inventory Control

Job Function:

Provide support in developing and maintaining buying plans by catalog and season for the merchandising and inventory groups. Build and maintain catalogs using LAGO. Edit and correct catalog proofs prior to catalog release. Maintain catalog system files.

Responsibilities:

Planning & Analysis

1. Develop spreadsheets and reporting for ongoing and adhoc analyses of all merchandise performance in terms of catalog demand and profit productivity, margin, personalization, new vs. pick/up, returns and other related data.
2. Update plans by merchandising department, class and buying team including recommendations of sku and style counts for new and pick-up merchandise by catalog and season.
3. Understand profit and loss statements at the item level for product reporting and evaluation.
4. Identify, analyze and draw relevant conclusions and recommendations about opportunities and trends impacting merchandising. Provide consistent feedback to Merchandising and Merchandise Planning departments regarding sales and profitability opportunities and obstacles.
5. Select merchandise pick-ups for review with Director of Merchandise Planning.
6. Assist buying team in building of items, including item placement, with emphasis on merchandise performance.
7. Build and maintain all catalogs using the asset management system LAGO.
8. Review, verify and correct all catalog proofs prior to catalog release.
9. Schedule and perform release process on catalogs before in-home date.
10. Measure all catalogs.
11. Sticker catalogs with picture merchandise performance using the Merchandise Report.

Job Requirements:

? BS/BA in related field preferred
? 2-3 years direct mail/catalog industry experience preferred
? Excellent systems knowledge with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
? Fluency with reporting
? Prior Asset Management System experience a plus
