The Merchandiser works with the buying/merchandising team to provide a sound and well-thought-out merchandise assortment and presentation to support the growth strategies of the Grand formats.

Responsible to position the organization for increased coordination between formats and future growth of the Grand formats.

Merchandisers will assist in the development of the merchandise strategies, assortment mix for the Home Improvement categories, promotional marketing and store conversions for the Grand organization.

This position requires interaction with merchants, replenishment, store operations, inventory management and interdepartmental teams.

Qualifications
1. Manage selling space for assigned lines, provide input on local market focus activities including proactive assortment changes, business pricing strategy, product requirements and marketing input.

2. Support of preemptive strategy initiatives.

3.Define merchandise scheme and work with appropriate business functions to implement.

4. Work as point of contact with departments responsible for fixturing, displays, signage, planograms, space allocation.

6. Responsible for building relationship with Buying organization to ensure the Grand merchandising strategies and objectives are understood and addressed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university; or two to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Ability to effectively build relationships at all levels.

Retail store experience and strong understanding of retail-related selling and/or retail operating environment.

Strong understanding of buying, assorting, placement, merchandising and operational processes.

Practical problem-solving and thinking skills
