Parts Purchasing Agent

Requirements:

?  Possession of high school diploma or equivalent (GED)

?  Reliable and punctual

?  Able to multi-task and demonstrate initiative

?  Strong verbal and written communication skills.

?  Smart, good judgment, quick learner and strong work ethic

?  Strong analytical/math skills, excellent follow through and good computer skills (Excel and MS Word)

?  Very organized and proactive with the ability to work individually and as a part of a team.

 

Job Duties:

 Prepares, tracks and files completed purchase orders.

 Maintains a library of catalogs and consults as needed.  Communicates with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.

 Compares and confirms prices, specifications and delivery dates.  Verifies receipt of items by comparing items ordered to that received; resolves any shipping discrepancies or errors with suppliers.

 Expedites delivery of purchases to warehouse and delivers to end user or department.

 Investigates defective or unacceptable goods or services complaints with original purchase requestor, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and takes corrective action.

 Keeps information/documentation accessible through comprehensive filing system.

 Tracks inventory of stocked items, sets reorder limits and ensures essential items are sufficiently on hand.  Documents and delivers stocked items at the request of department users.
