Planning & Allocation Manager
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Planning and Allocation Manager owns preparation, completion, analyzation and maintenance of all store plans and allocation activities. Managers strive to meet receipt goals, revise plans, ensure store inventories are profitably invested and analyze allocation methods to increase efficiencies. They own the plan, build-up and assortment to support new store openings. The Planning and Allocation Managers have a special focus on collaboration within their team members. They supervise both Store Analysts and Allocation Planners, provide coaching and effectively manage the HR processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Store PlanningManages the timely development of merchandise class plans for sales and inventory at the store level, incorporating regional flow summaries, limited stores and min/max guidelines. Effectively utilize the pre-season smoothing process to create an appropriate monthly receipt flow. Insures process all completed based on the seasonal/monthly planning calendar.Manages the monthly analysis of store performance trends and appropriately revises store sales and inventory plans to achieve a profitable turn and acceptable compliance rating. Review the comp., non-comp. and new stores for business nuances. Insures the monthly development of New Store Build-up plans by store/class and reviews demographics for assortment opportunities.AllocationManages the execution of store plans and achievement of an acceptable compliance rating and profitability. Insures appropriate allocation method usages to increase efficiencies, incorporating min/max guidelines, regional flow summaries and vendor distortion.Manages Allocation System usage by analyzing Performance History reports, reviewing system flags and input from the Allocation Planners. Effectively utilizes Bench Mark to achieve Auto-allocation usage goal. Manages the New Store build-up and determines the timing and flow of items to achieve plan.Oversees the daily/weekly monitoring and balancing of flow through and non-sell merchandise to achieve company receipt goals.OtherCollaboration: Insure collaboration between Store Analysts and Allocation Planners to capitalize on new opportunities, resolving issues faster and being able to handle the fast pace growth of the company.Action Plans: Assist with reviewing, refining and executing weekly Action Plans coming out of weekly team meetings.Business Performance: Review and takes action on business performance weekly by using metrics and exception-based reporting; review and make decision regarding promotions/markdowns Human Performance: Lead recruiting interviews, provide coaching, training, and mentoring and ensure the performance management processes are completed accurately and timelyLiaison: Act as the primary liaison between Merchandise Control, Store Operations, Buyers, and Distribution Centers
