Product Manager Intimate Apparel

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Manager is responsible for the full merchandising and buying process for a daywear, panties, shapewear and hosiery. The position is accountable for planning and executing goals set to achieve sales plan, mark up, and return rates. The Product Manager also works very closely with inventory control to support best possible fulfillment. They work with the support departments of technical design and quality assurance to aid in achieving set goals. In addition the Product Manager works with the Creative team on merchandise presentation

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Present overall trend direction for the season for assigned area. Summarize research analysis, identify key items and communicate trend direction.

2. Develop product and plan assortments and pricing in assigned categories by analysis of past business, shopping market and other retail stores. Determine catalog assortment by book.

3. Review/manage vendor matrix. Responsible for planning vendor sourcing, cost and back-up inventory negotiations on product. Develop vendor negotiation strategy.

4. Perform standard audit cost reconciliation.

5. Work closely with Global Sourcing and product testing specialist to develop new product, source piece goods, negotiate costs, test garment for quality and care instructions and approve dye lots on dyed to match programs.

6. Review key performance indicators actual vs. plan. Determine root causes of why execution worked/didn't work and develop action plans to maximize opportunities and minimize risks.

7. Coach, monitor and train associates; accountable for developing staff.

8. Must have distinct vision of where intimate business is headed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelor's degree
? 4 to 7 years experience required
? Product development knowledge
? Supervisory skills
? Global experience desired
? Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
