Summary:
Fulfill the Hollywood Entertainment Mission by creating an exceptional experience for our guests, partners and shareholders.
Create and maintain a culture of caring, trust, respect and self-reliant achievement through the selection and development of a high-performance field leadership team. Challenge the status quo and adapt to an environment where the needs of the business and the needs of the partners are ever-changing. Deliver profitability by setting a compelling vision and leading the team to succeed. Demonstrate flexibility in leadership style by applying both directive and supportive behaviors as dictated by individual and situational needs. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a performance culture based on teamwork, innovation and risk taking in the service of our guests and partners
- Hire, develop and promote talented partners who fit the unique cultures of Hollywood Video and Game Crazy.
- Accurately diagnose the task specific needs of individuals and demonstrate flexibility by applying the appropriate leadership style.
- Adapt and apply appropriate directing, coaching, supporting, delegating and mentoring to maximize the performance of district managers.
- Develop bench strength through effective workforce and succession planning.
- Think and act like an owner by anticipating the needs of our guests and partners. Identify and implement business strategies that leverage the resources of both Hollywood Video and Game Crazy to deliver the highest return on invested capital and effort.
- Encourage and empower partners to take smart risks in the service of our guests, our partners and our shareholders.
- Reward and recognize exceptional performance and innovative thinking.
- Develop strong relationships within the Hollywood Entertainment organization to influence positive change and improved results.
- Make smart and tough decisions regarding the business and partners in the pursuit of constant improvement.
- Represent the needs of the field organization to the Zone Vice Presidents and SSC departments in the service of managing the Hollywood Video and Game Crazy brands to our guests and partners.
- Drive the business to meet and exceed revenue and profit targets.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Requires 10 years of progressive multi-unit experience, overseeing up to 75-100 stores
- Proven success in retail multi-unit management experience with P&L responsibility
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Strong influencing skills
- Ability to assess an individual?s task specific need for direction and support, use a variety of leadership styles comfortably and reach agreement on what the leader and individual need from each other as they work together.
- Effective directing, coaching, supporting, delegating and mentoring skills
- Ability to promote accountability and manage remote personnel with varying skills sets
- Ability to analyze performance metrics, identify opportunities and take initiative to translate analysis into action
- Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate future business needs
- Effective time management and prioritization
- Ability to adapt to and lead in a rapidly changing business environment
- High level of integrity and honesty
