Retail/Clothing/Merchandise Manager

Are you comfortable in a retail environment?  Are you able to manage merchandise effectively and efficiently while maintaining appropriate margins and increasing sales?  Are you able to manage a staff?  Then this is the position for you!  We are a dynamic and exciting Harley-Davidson dealership in Ames Iowa.We carry a huge variety of trendy, seasonal and authentic Harley-Davidson clothing, jewelry and accessories for adults, children, bikers and non bikers alike.  We have been established since 1994 and have a loyal customer base. 

 

As a Merchandise Manager you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of sales associates.  The appropriate candidate will have a proven track record in retail management, including merchandise purchasing, staff scheduling and management, training and development, operation within budgetary guidelines, all while obtaining and exceeding  sales goals and the maximization of profit margins.  This will require a fabulous attitude; a professional and courteous demeanor and the ability to exhibit exceptional customer service that will build and maintain lasting customer relationships.  In our business it is essential to build relationships with our customers and your team will play a large role in this process.  Our merchandise managers lead a team that sells merchandise associated with the best motorcycle brand in the world, but they also sell the status and lifestyle of Harley-Davidson. 

 

Retail management experience is required along with the ability to obtain and retain product knowledge.  Excellent computer skills are a must as is the understanding that customer satisfaction is of utmost importance to the dealership and the ownership. .

 

This is a golden opportunity to get involved in one of the larger Harley-Davidson dealership networks in the nation.  A work schedule that includes Saturday is mandatory. This is a challenging career, but is very rewarding and is an exciting business to be involved with!
