District Retail Manager

 

We are seeking a District Retail Manager experienced in driving sales through motivating staff and reinforcing customer service and merchandising standards.  The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: overseeing and supervising the operation of the seven Winston Flowers retail stores, ensuring maximized sales and profitability, inventory and expense control, meeting monthly and yearly financial goals, and training and developing retail employees for future growth.  All Store Managers will report to the District Retail Manager.

 

Job Responsibilities:

?  Supervise and develop general management skills at retail.

o Staffing: staff levels should reflect anticipated volume, improve flexibility in associate scheduling, implement timely review process

o Security/Loss Prevention: loss prevention strategies, assigning keyholders

o Cash Management:  ensuring accurate daily deposits, standardized z-out procedure

o Associate Relations: motivation of associates utilizing communication, incentives.

 

?  Responsible for meeting forecasted financial goals resulting in increased profits at the retail store level.

 

?  Accountable for inventory levels at retail stores

o Collectively determine protocol and standards for transferring inventory from the studio and purchasing from the market

o Determine necessary in-store levels per location in each category

o Decrease cost of good percentage via sales strategy

 

?  Work collaboratively with store managers on issues concerning policies and procedures.

o Ensure that policies and procedures outlined in Winston Flowers? Associate Handbook are consistently enforced

o Work cooperatively with Manager of Human Resources to create new policies and procedures at the retail level as necessary

 

?  Collaborate with Manager of Human Resources, Retail Visual Manager and Director of Client Relations to provide continued training and ensure company standards are met for retail management and associates in:

o Customer service and sales

o Merchandising

o Operations management

o Recruitment and retention of retail associates

 

?  Identify training needs of all existing Retail Associates and work with internal resources to provide development opportunities; with the Manager of Human Resources, coordinate training program for all new associates

 

Candidate Attributes:?  Previous management experience in high-end service and/or retail industries is required

?  Demonstrated experience driving business and building teams, with a proven ability to efficiently and professionally meet client needs

?  Ability to recruit, motivate, manage and retain top quality staff in an energetic, service oriented environment

?  Demonstrated strong leadership and visual merchandising skills

?  Strong interpersonal skills?  Professional or personal experience in floriculture, horticulture, and/or design preferred?  High level of enthusiasm and self-motivation?  Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively

 Miscellaneous:

?  Peak business periods will require a flexible work schedule and extended work days and work weeks; generally 12-14 hour days, up to 7-12 successive work days
