Retail Financial Analyst

Under the direction of the Director of Planning & Analysis, this position will be involved in all aspects of financial planning and an­alysis for the Retail Division.  This will include:

 

?  Maintaining and issuing business critical reports that are used to evaluate weekly, monthly and annual business results and trends.

 

?  Actively participating in the budget and all forecast process(s).  This will include compiling and creating budgets, trend analysis, and working with the Senior Retail Staff to understand overall growth assumptions and expense requirements.

 

?  Develop new reports and create business models to help Senior Management pro-actively mange the business. 

 

?  Performing monthly analysis of performance results.

 

 In this highly visible role, the ideal candidate will have the following skills:

 

?  Strong attention to detail and the ability to issue accurate and error free reports.

 

?  Strong time management skills, including the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines on time.

 

?  Is a self-starter who does not require constant supervision to perform daily/weekly task(s). In addition, the ideal candidate must be self-motivated, conscientious and focused with a strong desire to learn the business. 

 

?  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to communicate and work well with others. 

 

?  A minimum of 1-2 years prior experience in accounting, finance and/or budgeting role.

 

?  A working knowledge of accounting basic principals including a solid understanding of balance sheet accounts.

 

?  Must be a team player and have a good sense of humor.

 

 Very strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.  Oracle, Business Objects, ADI, and Access, a plus.
