Retail Loan Officer

SUMMARY

Primary responsibility will be to establish new and returning business consisting of residential loans and/or mortgage refinancing. within a designated geographical region..  Must possess excellent communication, organizational and negotiating skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

1.  Learns and maintains a thorough knowledge of the various programs offered by UMB.

2.  Presents products to potential borrowers through consultations.

3.  Initiates cold calls and telemarketing.

4.  Builds new relationships and maintain existing ones throughout the entire sales cycle.

5.  Works with UMB management and support team to develop loan scenarios and/or pricing options for prospective loans.

6.  Develops loan scenarios and pricing options for prospective clients utilizing UMB resources /tools and management as necessary.

7.  Acts a liaison between borrowers and loan processor to ensure the smooth flow of a loan from set-up to funding.

8.  Provides client support.

9.  Maintains a high degree of confidentiality in all matters.SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus

? A minimum of six (6) months mortgage industry experience with a proven successful track record of production in a retail lending capacity selling a variety of lending programs

? Thorough knowledge of the retail mortgage industry to include understanding underwriting matrixes, underwriting guidelines, appraisal reviews, and pricing options.

? Must possess a viable book of business to market from.

? A minimum of six (6) months outside sales, marketing, data entry and customer service experience.
