Retail Merchandise Planner

Job Purpose:


?Supports a channel of business by managing forecasts and inventory levels. Ensure that proper events are established in the forecasting system to support growth and corresponding sales as well as any promotional activities. Monitor sales and growth against budgeted levels, raising issues and reacting to changes in a timely fashion. Partner with other business analyst on item forecasting issues to determine appropriate resolution. Partner with merchants on new product forecasts.

Primary Job Task/Responsibilities:


? Analyze sales and margin trends at item and sales channel level (actual sales by items against forecast, budget, growth rate, recommend items for discontinuation.)
? Review item level forecasts versus actual sales and maintain forecast accuracy in system. 
? Monitor daily distributions of inventory to ensure that all channels of business are supported.
? Create and maintain events in Forecasting & Allocation System (promotional activity, Holiday, etc).
? Maintain assortment lists in Forecasting & Allocation System.

Technical Competencies:


? A college degree is required.
? Excellent computer skills included Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, SAP a plus, must have retail system experience.
? Exceptional Analytical skills, ability to handle multiple priorities and business partnerships.
? Ability to adapt and react to a fast changing business environment.
? 2-5 years of retail experience including forecasting, purchasing and business analysis.
