Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Retail Relations, the Domestic Retail Relations Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key retailers/buyers in all retail channels, by communicating with, listening to and gathering feedback, to develop a better understanding of their needs.  This will help to create relevant programs during non-show periods, understand improvements needed for the show and to ensure overall attendance at the WSA Show.  The candidate will be responsible for the following:Maintaining and strengthening relationships with our current customer base.Build and develop relationships with future customers.To build and maintain, in conjunction with the Database Coordinator, a comprehensive, up-to-date, database of customers and prospects for their respective territory.Meet with key retail customers when appropriate.Identify and implement, with the Director of Retail Relations, all marketing, PR and program opportunities to build awareness, credibility and loyalty with the Retail Relations Team and the WSA.Working cross functionally with the Database Coordinator, Marketing, Sales, Publishing, and other divisions to insure the accuracy of data and producing appropriate lists upon request.Various other duties as assigned by the supervisor.



Skills/Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have successful experience and skills in the following areas:+5 years of footwear buying or wholesale experience with a department store, discount chain, footwear specialty chain, or volume merchandise chain.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsProblem solvingRelationship building Ability to prepare and present high level presentations to customers and prospects.Collaborative and team oriented style; must have strong interpersonal skills. Documentation skillsThorough understanding of both the branded and private label side of the retail businessMust be able to travelExperience with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and databases.
