General Description:

 

This position is responsible for maintaining the yard location and its entirety.  This position must also maintain and establish customer relations and oversee the processing of material while ensuring profitability.  Actively participates and displays behaviors of the company values and leads department in replicating these behaviors.   

 

People reporting to this person are: Equipment Operators and Material Sorters 3-5 people.

 

Essential Duties:

 

? Work closely with Operations and Customer Service regarding current inventories, ability to deliver orders, and communicate customer specifications and quality requirements

? Work closely with Sales Department to develop ongoing sales strategies and maintain working knowledge of general economic conditions

? Maintain existing business /develop new business by responding to all customer quality and service needs.

? Build relationships with in the community by joining and interacting with community organizations i.e. Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Junior Achievement.

? Establish and maintain an agenda in order to keep yard location under established regulations.

? Responsible for the safety of yard employees

? Provide direct supervision to all yard employees.

? Responsible for physical inventory.

? Ensures accurate recording of all yard transactions of both scrap purchases and yard sales.

? Daily inputting into computer system of all transactions.

? Must be willing and capable of performing all duties required to run yard location including run heavy equipment and all machinery.

? Determine grade and price of scrap material.

? Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

? Travel to customer locations.

? Other duties as necessary

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

? B.A. Degree in Business preferred

? Computer Skills

? Knowledge of Ferrous and Non-ferrous materials

? 1-3 years experience in supervision.

? Strong communications and interpersonal skills

? Ability to work independently as well as with others

? Proven organizational skills and attention to accuracy and detail

? Assertive/Professional attitude

? Customer service oriented.

? Excellent math skills.

? Knowledge of heavy equipment machinery.

? Must be willing to work in an outdoor environment
