POSITION/TITLE Retail Store Manager

REPORTS TO:    CEO 

# OF REPORTING EMPLOYEES 2

 

SUMMARY:

Manage the first US store of a home d?cor business that has 30 retail locations in France. The store will open October, 1st in Boston on Newbury Street.  Ideally, the future manager would start part time in September (working on the store opening) and full time in October.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

?  Responsible for meeting monthly and annual sales goals

?  Keeping the store clean and neat. Making sure that all items are tagged and priced

?  Maintaining customer relations, responding quickly to any customer phone calls, orders and complaints

?  Reporting to management including monthly inventory, sales history and any other reports requested in a timely way

?  Developing an annual budget with management. Following this budget

?  Assisting in preparation of advertising plan (including special promotions, advertising placement, ?)

?  Management and scheduling of staff, including recruiting, hiring and training. Conducting annual written performance reviews. Advising management immediately of problems and issues

?  Ensuring that bank deposits are made, cash is balanced and accurate daily sales reports are transmitted to the Newport office

 

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

?  Minimum 3 years experience managing a similar store

?  Excellent communication skills. Ability to interact with various departments, customers and staff

?  High attention to detail

?  Ability to follow problems through to final resolution with minimum supervision

?  Ability to comprehend monetary issues and financial information

?  Computer skills required. Excel. Word. Any POS System
