General Summary:

The Sales Leader?s chief role is to set the pace and energy level on the selling floor by demonstrating exceptional selling ability and teamwork.  He or she will assist the store management with teaching product knowledge to the team and will act as the manager in charge when store management is not there.  This position is a stepping- stone to an Assistant Manager position and requires strong leadership and motivation.

 Summary of Responsibilities

? Role model customer service and handle customer concerns professionally.

? Demonstrate effective selling techniques and assist other sales staff in developing these skills.

? Support and remind sales staff of individual sales goals.

? Identify and communicate merchandise assortment opportunities to the Store Management on a consistent basis.

? Maintain, grow and utilize customer database for phone calls, product launches, and events.

? Assist the store management in maintaining a cohesive, cooperative work environment through team building, motivation and coaching.

? Continually provide product knowledge information to sales staff and make it a priority to become the expert on new products.

? Assist store management with following and implementing all corporate visual presentation standards and guidelines.

 Qualifications

? Previous retail experience in a sales role. Specialty store experience preferred.

? Proven sales ability.

? Strong interpersonal skills; adept at being a team player.

? Detail oriented and reliable.

? Passion for gardening, or horticulture knowledge a plus.

? Ability to lift 40 lbs and carry up to 50 yards

? Must be able to work in a vigorous physical manner, standing or walking 90% of the workday.
