Senior Fashion Photographer

The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. operates under the nameplates of Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's and Younkers.  With 279 stores in 23 states, we are the second largest regional department store in the country.  The total company sales volume is $3.4 billion.  The responsibilities of the Senior Fashion Photographer are as follows but not limited to: Execute fashion photography, both in studio and on location, for all print media based on creative concepts & standards that promote the Corporations merchandise objectives & branding strategies.  Supervise and assign studio photo assistants to regularly scheduled tasks.  Meets with Art Directors to discuss layouts and concepts of upcoming projects.  Checks film or digital images for accurate color, exposure, or tonal values.

The candidate we seek will have a 2-4 year degree in photography.  6-10 years as a fashion photographer in a commercial studio & must have a strong creative sensibility.  Must be proficient in small, medium & large format photography.  Digital photography skills are essential.  Must be able to work in a Mac environment.Must be proficient in all lighting situations ie: in studio use of strobe lighting, daylight, mixed light on location, etc.Must be able to show a portfolio of work and have been working in a professional capacity for 6-10 years.  Computer skills should include PhotoShop, Quark & various Digital Capture applications.  Physical mobility & the ability to climb ladders & stand for long periods of time is essential.  Must be able to travel 10-20 or more weeks out of the year for location shoots.  Excellent communication skills are necessary.
