GFS Marketplace ? Shift Leader
Position Summary:
Performs management assigned duties that may include customer service, cash management, inventory management, receiving inventory, stocking, store conditions, and operating a cash register. Assists the store management team in the daily management of store operations. In the absence of a store or assistant manager, the Shift Leader will supervise sales associates in the performance of their assigned duties and works a flexible schedule, as well as open and close the store.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma, GED, Associate?s Degree preferred
Experience:
One to two years previous customer service and supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Essential Functions:Assist the management team, as assigned, in the management of daily store operations and assist in supervising associates in the performance of their assigned duties. Open and close the store. Execute store policies and procedures and all safety and security measures.Provide superior customer service by greeting customers, answering questions on products and services, suggestive selling, and explaining and administering customer loyalty programs such as Partnership in Savings and Continuing Service Programs.Support the execution of receiving product in an organized and timely manner, ordering, sequencing, count verification, inventory adjustments, and planogram implementation.Deliver S cubed service through proper cash handling, speed, accuracy, and proper data capture at the cash register.Performs cash handling functions including setting up tills, counting down tills, preparing/delivering bank deposits, and getting change for cashiers as assigned.Ensure that all areas of the store are properly cleaned and maintained.Support merchandising functions including signs and price tags, stock products, merchandising and facing of products; perform product rotation, product quality control, and planogram implementation.Support the training of associates to ensure that store condition standards, sales and customer service is maintained.Adhere to the purpose and philosophy of the organization including, but not limited to the cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Physical and Mental Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have good problem solving, customer service, communication and interpersonal skills to represent GFS Marketplace and have strong time management and organizational skills. Availability to work flexible hours and work week required. Must maintain a valid state driver?s license and safe driving record per GFS policy.
Problem Solving:
Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
Equipment/Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills, email and Internet software applications. Knowledge of general office equipment, cash registers, scales, hi-lo certification and pallet jack.
Working Conditions:
Normal retail store environment. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, see, and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, lift, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be mobile. The employee must frequently bend, lift, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must maintain a valid state driver?s license and safe driving record per GFS policy.
