Sr. Staff Accountant

POSITION PURPOSE Ensure the sustainment of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (404) within the department. Develop MD&A and coordinates other financial information used in the preparation of financial statements and other related schedules and footnotes as required for reporting to senior management, the parent company, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other outside investors in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Perform technical research of accounting literature, prepares special reports, documents and investigates accounting issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop 404 sustainment processes and implement in Financial Reporting Department. This includes developing procedures to monitor changes to key controls and processes and communicating to Management and the Compliance Department.
- Supervise 404 Project Team and ensure the identification of key internal controls and assertions, and the accuracy of quarterly evaluations and assessments as they apply to Financial Reporting / General Ledger.
- Ensure employees have access to resources required to ensure compliance with 404.
- Develop MD&A disclosure for the 10-Q and 10-K filings and the annual report to shareholders.
- Responsible for accuracy and completeness of selected financial statement footnotes and annual report schedules and disclosures for external reporting to the SEC and to shareholders.
- Coordinate, in conjunction with others, with the external auditors regarding quarterly reviews and annual audits of the Company. This also includes coordination between other departments within the Company.
- Apply technical knowledge to develop documentation to support the company's adoption of new accounting standards and the impact on the financial statements and related disclosures.
- Participate in and in some instances coordinate and review the research and analysis of the Company's consolidated financial statements. This includes collecting information from other departments related to fluctuation analysis in order to ensure compliance with company standards and GAAP.
- Review various financial data suggesting changes and making corrections to the financial statements, press releases, investor fact sheet, annual reports, proxy statements, 10-Ks, 10-Qs and other documents prepared by other departments for publications to investors, shareholders.
- Administer and sustains employee motivation program in financial reporting which enhances departmental focus and innovation in the department.
- Manage special projects as determined by management. These projects will include, but are not limited to, technical research of accounting literature, preparation of special reports and documentation, and investigation into accounting issues.
- Perform other related duties requested by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Position requires completion of a Bachelor's degree in accounting plus 4 to 6 years of accounting experience in public accounting or a consolidated financial reporting environment. Project management skills and/or supervisory skills a plus. Position requires a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as they relate to financial reporting to ensure accurate reporting of financial data. Position also requires a comprehensive understanding of internal controls structure and concepts. CPA certification or working toward certification is preferred. Additionally, position requires the ability to: proficiently use Word and Excel; effectively communicate verbally and in writing; analyze and understand financial statements; understand accounting elimination and consolidation concepts; apply technical literature to various theoretical issues; and analyze and research technical accounting literature. Knowledge of Oracle General Ledger and related systems is helpful, as is knowledge of Visio, Lexus Nexus and other research tools.
