Location/Campus:
New England College is nestled in an area abounding with natural beauty. Located in Henniker, a village of 4,000 residents just 90 minutes from Boston and 20 minutes from Concord, the state capital. The Contoocook River runs through the center of the village and alongside the campus. The area is surrounded by scenic hills and mountains. We offer undergraduate, graduate and professional programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master of Education and Master of Science. New England College bookstore has an opportunity for a store manager at there $641,000 Gold bookstore with an enrollment of 1,000 students. http://www.nec.edu/


Job Responsibilities:
Bring your energy and enthusiasm to this leadership role by developing relationships on campus with students, faculty, and staff. We are seeking a highly responsible, customer service driven leader who possesses one-two year's retail management experience, and who thrives in a fast paced, challenging and ever changing environment. The desired candidate must be friendly and organized with excellent customer service skills. This person is responsible for driving sales, financial management and ensuring store profit and productivity goals are met. Area of responsibility includes $641,000 in sales volume with 72 % of sales in text (500 titles). Key components of this management position would include:

1. Provide outstanding customer service to a diverse customer base including faculty, student, and staff.
2. Retail knowledge of basic concepts, retail systems, and merchandising standards.
3. Demonstrate financial and business acumen
4. Provide an atmosphere with open and honest communication that respects the ideas and opinions of others.
5. Create a learning environment that provides growth and development of associates.
4. Active involvement with campus activities and leadership groups and organizations.
6. Open minded, creative and solutions oriented.
7. Ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
8. Cooperative, committed to common goal and respectful of team and colleagues.
9. Recruit, hire, and train quality associates.
10. Maintain a commitment to a strong community presence through on and off campus partnerships.
11. Oversee all departments within the bookstore. (Including Text)
12. Performing other duties as assigned by Regional Manager.

Job Skills:
1. Bachelors Degree in Business or similar experience required.
2. One-two years of retail management within the bookstore industry preferred.
3. Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
4. Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
5. Ability to build teams and partnerships.
6. Proven track record with people management and development.
5. Responsible for actions, follows through on commitment.
6. Results orientated, with the ability to multi-task, delegate and drive results.
9. P&L knowledge to Increase store sales.
