Bookstore/Campus Info:
This 6,000 square foot store is in a renovated church building (built in 1884) where there is a coffee shop and international market, selling products from the culture represented at this school. This is a very prestigious, private, Catholic, four-year Liberal Arts and Sciences school, on semesters, with increasing enrollment (2,000 students). It was listed in U.S. News & World Report's Guide to America's Best Colleges every year since 1991.
The campus is located on the banks of the Fox River in a town of 22,000, five miles south of Green Bay (home of the Packers). The Green Bay metropolitan area has a population of 230,000, lots of summer and winter recreational activities, and is only 60 miles from beautiful Door County. (http://www.snc.edu)
Job Responsibilities:
Bring your energy and enthusiasm to this leadership role by developing relationships on campus with students, faculty, and staff. We are searching for a highly responsible, customer service driven leader who possess 2-3 years retail management experience, and who thrives in a fast paced, challenging and ever changing environment. Driving sales, managing financials and ensuring store profit and productivity goals are met are key components to the role. This dynamic store manager would oversee retail operations of approximately $1.4M, with 78% of the sales in textbooks (750 titles).
Experience:
1. Solid retail management experience with outstanding customer service and organizational skills
2. Communicates openly and honestly, respects ideas and opinions, supports learning and growth environment through recognizing achievements
3. Demonstrates financial and business acumen
4. Demonstrates passion for exceeding customer expectations and ensuring customer service standards are consistently met
5. Provides outstanding customer service to faculty and students, as well as other customers/guests in the bookstore
6. Is open minded, creative and solutions oriented
7. Has the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines
8. Is cooperative, committing to common goal and being respectful of team and colleagues
9. Recruits, selects, hires, and trains quality employees
10. Maintains a commitment to a strong community presence through on and off campus partnerships
11. Oversees student bookstore accounts
12. Manages inventory and responsibilities related to textbooks and general merchandise
1. Bachelors Degree in Business or similar experience required.
2. Three to five years of retail management within the bookstore industry with at least $1.5M in volume required.
3. Previous bookstore experience is a plus.
3. Strong communication skills both written and oral.
4. Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
5. Ability to build teams and partnerships.
6. Proven track record with people management and development.
7. Responsible for actions; follows through on commitment.
