Job Description
This position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of business systems and procedures for Talbots' stores organization. Works closely with other functional areas to assure that their systems and procedures work in concert with the stores organization.

Review, rewrite and coordinate the development of store business system requirements for new and existing store systems. Assist in the development of implementation, testing and training plans for changes. Create time and action calendars for activities.

Documents store procedures and coordinate with other functional areas to incorporate all procedures. Support and train internal and external personnel in system procedures regarding the stores organization. Participate in the development of stores information systems priorities. Keep store management informed of MIS schedules and their effect on stores. Communicate information to all parties concerned.

Coordinate system activities for stores and participate in all user acceptance testing of store systems and other systems that effect stores. Coordinate and communicate projects with MIS to resolve actual or potential system problems. Coordinate and communicate with other departments dependent upon store information to resolve system or procedural problems.

Ensure store requirements are met during the development of systems and procedures in other functional areas throughout the company. Complete Capital Project Requests for store technology capital projects. Track Capital Project requests from initiation to completion. Stay current on hardware and software trends in the retail industry i.e., reading periodicals, speaking with peers, attending seminars, etc.



Requirements:

Knowledge of and experience in the implementation of business systems in a retail environment at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelors degree and 3-4 years of systems experience. Exposure to retail operations. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be extremely detail oriented.
