Account Manager - On Site (#232)

The NPD Group, Inc (NPD) is a global market information company that measures product movement and consumer behavior across a broad range of industries ? apparel, automotive products, consumer electronics, cosmetics and fragrances, food, foodservice, footwear, housewares, information technology, interactive entertainment, toys, and music.

 

The Account Manager is responsible for day-to-day servicing of a Strategic Account. He/she builds strong relationships with client and NPD employees, identifies opportunities to apply NPD information to address key client business issues, develops the application of PowerView/Solution Folders (NPD proprietary software) and maximizes NPD website as an integral tool for information access within client organization. Key responsibilities include client relationship building, revenue growth/retention targets, enhancement of existing products, increasing NPD's perceived value, analysis and presentation of POS & Consumer Data, identify and define key client information and marketing needs, increase client penetration and exposure throughout client organization.

This position is located on site at one of our major clients in San Diego.

Qualifications: 4 + years experience in client servicing, market research or equivalent. Strong experience with syndicated research analysis and usage, both consumer and POS data preferred. Category mgmt exp. preferred. Knowledge and experience working with major CE/IT companies preferred. BA/BS or equivalent experience. Excellent PC (MS Word, Excel, PPT) skills. Ability to manage through difficult client situations. Listens and probes. Good communicator and has experience presenting to and interacting with all levels of client contacts. Manages own projects to completion. Self-motivated. Has the ability to work independently and effectively to meet deadlines under pressure. Exposure to contract negotiations.Willingness to travel to Port Washington, NY headquarters when necessary.
