Account Manager/Sales Professional (IT/telecom products and services)
Digicon Corporation, established in 1985, is a full-service Telecommunication and Information Technology Integrator and Provider servicing Network Engineering and Software Development to both government and commercial customers. Headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, Digicon also provides a fully secure Data Center, Network Operations Center, and Help Desk/Trouble Ticket Resolution division from within this facility. Digicon employs approximately 300 employees throughout the Washington metropolitan area, as well as several other major cities across the nation.
We are searching for an outgoing, proactive, and aggressive Account Manager and Sales Professional to join our sales team at our Headquarters office in Herndon, VA. In this position you will be responsible for coordinating activities related to the sale of manufactured products and services for related information technology, telecommunications, and software applications. You will resolve customer complaints regarding sales and services while continuously assessing customer preferences to determine a profitable focus of the sales efforts. You will confer with and seek advice from SMEs to determine effective solutions development and represent Digicon Corporation at trade association meetings to promote products.
To be qualified for this position, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
1) A Bachelor?s Degree combined with a minimum of 3 years experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably in the sale of information technology and/or telecommunications products (software/hardware) or services.
OR
2) A minimum of 5 years experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably in the sale of information technology and/or telecommunications products (software/hardware) or services.
3) Extensive experience in prospecting new opportunities and a proven track record of successfully exceeding quotas.
4) Extensive knowledge of sales and marketing concepts including strategy and product demonstration.
5) Strong customer service and customer assessment skills, ability to meet quality standards, and strong knowledge of computer equipment and software applications.
6) Knowledge of strategic planning, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and affinity for active listening, speaking in front of customers/clients, persuasion, social perceptiveness, time management, problem sensitivity, and inductive reasoning.
7) Experience in the sale of Cisco, Shortel, IP Telephony (IPT), and/or VoIP products and services is a definitely plus.
This position is evaluated on a quota based program.
