Administrative Assistant

Position Summary:

Enhances effectiveness of membership recruitment and marketing activities by providing information management support within the Department of Membership Services.  Provides excellent customer service to members and constituents.



Duties:

* Produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics.

 

* Processes applications for membership, enters data into a computer database, and maintains customer contact information.



* Organizes work by reading and routing correspondence; collecting information; initiating telecommunications.



* Maintains department schedule by maintaining calendars for department personnel; arranging meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel; prepares expense claims.



* Completes requests by greeting association members, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.



* Maintains confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.



* Prepares reports by collecting information, as directed.



* Maintains office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.



* Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer instructions and established procedures.



* Provides historical reference by utilizing filing and retrieval systems.



* Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; and keeping current on latest computer software applications for general business use.



* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

The Los Angeles County Medical Association offers competitive salary and benefits.  The salary range for this position is $29,000-$35,000 commensurate with education and experience.  The company provides employer-paid benefits for health, dental, vision, and life insurance. A 401(k) retirement plan is available with matching contributions paid by the employer up to specified limits.  The company pays for employee parking at its downtown location.
