Business Services Manager

Michigan Works! Berrien-Cass-Van Buren is the administrative arm of the local Workforce Development Board (WDB) for Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties.  We are a non-profit corporation in partnership with business, industry, community leaders and elected officials. Michigan Works! Berrien-Cass-Van Buren oversees, monitors and markets workforce development and training programs in the tri-county area and is one of twenty-five Michigan Works! organizations in Michigan and one of over 600 similar partnerships nation-wide in the field of workforce development.

Our staff is held responsible to the WDB for overseeing services which are employer-driven and positively impact the economic development of the tri-county region.  Members of our WDB are appointed by the elected officials from all three counties, and represent the private sector, education, labor, Department of Human Services, and community-based organization (CBOs). Private sector members form the majority of the members, ensuring that programs are truly employer driven and related to market needs.

Business Services Manager

This pro­fessional position is responsible for provid­ing the business com­munity with an understanding of Michigan Works!. Business Services Managers ensure that employers engaged by Michigan Works! receive the highest level of service and support in their search for talented employees.  Duties include devel­oping outreach strat­egies, promoting products and services, coordinating employer engagement activities, monitoring and reporting market trends and acting as a consultant both internally and externally on work­force development needs.  Must be a creative thinker, highly moti­vated, organized and detail oriented. Must have a professional presentation and excellent verbal and written communi­cation skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Exposure to staffing and training processes in a Hospitality, Healthcare, Manufacturing or Construction environment desired.  Bachelor?s Degree preferred and a minimum of 5 years relevant business experience.
