Commercial Account Executive

PURPOSE:

? This position will be responsible for selling Time Warner Cable Commercial Services to small and medium sized businesses, organizations as well as multi-tenant/multi-dwelling and hotel/motel establishments within the Time Warner Cable Raleigh Division service area.

? These services include but are not limited to high-speed data, data solutions, video and music.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

? This position will be responsible for business-to-business sales of all Commercial Services - ranging from broadband cable modem access, web hosting and e-commerce, to video and music services.  Identify and develop new business account prospects. (50%)Identify and develop new growth opportunities within business accounts. (15%)Writing and presenting proposals.  (10%)Negotiating and executing commercial agreements with customer(s).  (5%)Make periodic calls on existing business account customers to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. (5%)Pre-qualify leads in the sales tracking database. Track and report billing and contract issues with existing accounts.  Maintaining and reporting sales activity. (5%)Project management of sales cycle activities and service implementation. (5%)Resolve customer complaints and credit issues. (5%)Communicate business and program changes to existing customers, internal groups and prospective customers.  (Less than 5%)Participate in trade shows. (Less than 5%)Maintaining high customer satisfaction. (All the time)Perform other duties as assigned.

 

DECISION MAKING: 

? Make recommendations to businesses based on their video, data and other Time Warner Cable service needs.

 

JOB DIMENSIONS:   Managing territory with multiple accountsResponsible for monthly and annual revenue goals

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Knowledge of CATV required.  Understanding of TCP/IP networking.  Familiarity with business software and hardware applications and Intranets.Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and equipment (Routers, switches, Frame Relay, ATM and SONET).Understanding need and function of network security and firewallsExperience in financial/business benefits selling.  Excellent customer presentation and sales closing skills.  Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment.  Ability to work well under pressure or deadline environments.  Ability to translate technical information to customers.  Ability and experience working with high level management staff.  Ability to identify and cultivate market opportunities. 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

? College degree with concentration in Business, Communications, Computer Science or equivalent experience desired. 

 

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:One-year experience in the computer, computer networking is desiredOne to Three years experience in the Telecom/Cable industry selling high-end and/or high dollar services is desired.Three to Seven years outside sales experience in a business-to-business environment is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES:

? Frequent Travel within Raleigh Division Service Area. 

? Must be 18 years of age or older, with valid North Carolina driver?s license and good driving record.

 

ESSENTIAL MENTAL FUNCTIONS:Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required.Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines required. The ability to learn quickly and apply that knowledge is desired, along with adaptability and being able to work in a team environment required

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

? Must be able to sit for long periods of time and be able to lift up to 50lbs.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:Monday ? Friday, 8:00 AM ? 5:00 PM. Must be flexible. Additional hours required.
