Desk Marketing Manager

Sprague Energy has a fantastic opportunity for a Desk Marketing Manger (DMM).  The DMM has primary responsibility for a number of target accounts that require more attention and technical expertise than typically can be provided by a field sales representative.  The DMM will develop a detailed technical understanding of the business of each of the desk accounts that he/she is responsible for and identify the areas where Sprague can provide the most value. 

In this challenging position you would:Actively manage desk accounts by ensuring effective communication with customers as well as monitoring of account sales volume, margin, AR, etc. Independently identify and aggressively pursue and negotiate key sales opportunities to enhance Sprague profitability (increased volume/unit margin, new customers, oil/gas arbitrage opportunities, etc.). Develop and implement complex pricing and marketing strategies to optimize long-term relationships, maximize profitability and minimize risk. Collaborate with Oil Supply to address key issues including inventory management, special pricing arrangements, and requirements related to the desk accounts in an effort to best meet customer requirements, maximize profits and minimize risk.Independently handle any complaints or resolve any disputes with the desk accounts, including meeting customer information requests.Establish optimal pricing levels and approach for each customer, while remaining within Sprague?s overall pricing guidelines.Work with the Pricing Analysis group to ensure that communication of daily prices to the desk accounts is completed effectivelyAssist with annual budget process and other forecasting needs 

 

Educational Requirements:

 Detailed understanding of Sprague's sales channels & programs (i.e. fixed forwards, e-commerce etc.)Strong understanding of the oil futures/swaps markets and the implications of market structure to the overall Sprague profitability is essential.Strong analytical skillsCompetent computer skillsExcellent communication (written & oral), interpersonal and presentation skillsAbility to work independently, prioritize workload, perform under pressure in a fast-paced dynamic environment and manage multiple projects.Bachelors Degree Preferred
