District Sales Manager

ESCO Corporation has an opening for a District Sales Manager for our Engineered Products Group. The purpose of this position is to: manage, develop and expand ESCO sales and market share through active participation with current dealers, new distribution groups and the end user; train and motivate dealers in the sale of ESCO products through end user calls and market planning; provide recommendations and customer information in the development and implementation of product improvements and new products to meet the needs of the market; demonstrate knowledge of the application and operation of ESCO, Bucyrus Blades, Heflin and other products as assigned while consistently representing ESCO and Bucyrus Blades objectives and policies.
Major responsibilities include: attain or exceed the annual forecast sales volume and gross profit targets for assigned call load accounts by effectively qualifying account potential and focusing on those accounts that provide current revenues and/or represent the greatest opportunity for growth; continually upgrade current distribution and develop targeted new dealers and distribution channels; train dealers and customers on the value, use and maintenance of ESCO products, train dealer personnel to sell ESCO products when the District Manager is not present; contribute to maintaining an organization culture and environment that connects and aligns people resources and behavior with EPG Group Vision and Mission through personal actions, teamwork, and effective human relations; maintain professional relationships with dealers and customers; expenses are maintained at budget for personal expense and promotional items; travel position with the maximum number of business hours possible in front of customers; market Areas - define potential within assigned account base, call load focusing on accounts that provide current revenues or best growth potential (time applied to area of largest volume or product potential as forecast by potential on call load); specify target accounts through call load mechanism, ascertain potential sales volume and forecast annual ESCO volume on each account (accuracy within 5% of forecast compared to actual sales volume.); help develop sales campaigns and plans to develop target accounts (quantity and quality of selling plans and ideas presented to management. Number of plans and results of ideas accepted.); develop and recommend new product ideas or improvements of present products to meet needs in market place (at least one acceptable idea per year.); identify and understand market trends that will affect call load, distribution and planning process (timeliness of plans, number of plans and quality of plans presented to management. Results of plans accepted.); evaluate distribution alternatives to expand business (timeliness of plans, number of plans and quality of plans presented to management. Results of plans accepted.); complete Dealer Market Plans and Forecast on an annual basis with ESCO/BB Dealers, review on a quarterly basis with stakeholders utilizing Dealer Results scorecard (Dealer Market Plans completed by March 1 and attached in Sales Logix. Review schedule and included in call report information); and perform special or one-time functions as may be specifically assigned by the Sales Manager such as: investigate credit, make collections, attend meetings and conventions, train new salesmen, address meetings, attend refresher courses, make special surveys, substitute for service man on ESCO products when/or if qualified or directed to do so.
Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent experience; at least three years related experience in a Sales Management or District Manager role covering multiple territories; computer proficiency; strong written and verbal communication skills; and ability to self-manage. Must be able to travel 50% of the time and be willing to relocate to another territory.
Additional notes: This position will be trained in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii. It is required that the person live in the surrounding area. When the training period has been completed, it is mandatory that the person is mobile and will relocate anywhere in the U.S. that ESCO assigns for a different territory.
