We'll look to you to take a solutions-oriented consultative selling approach, getting to know your customers' industries and applications, and making value added recommendations that will help them meet their goals, such as increased productivity and reduced costs. In addition, you'll prospect and pursue new accounts, and respond to priority calls from customers who need parts right away. To be a good fit for this position you'll need a strong interest (though not necessarily expertise) in technical and mechanical products and applications and the ability to interact effectively with customers and Applied team members. A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record are required.

What You'll Bring to the Table
In addition to the qualifications detailed above, you'll need knowledge of bearings and/or power transmission products/applications. Additional understanding of one or more of the following products/applications would be to your benefit: linear technologies, fluid power components and systems, or industrial rubber products.
The following is preferred but not required:
? Equivalent of two years of college
? One to three years of sales experience
? Knowledge of costing, pricing, and sales practices and techniques

More About Your Role
Reporting to the General Manager of our facility, you'll cover a territory that extends about an hour's drive in any direction of the city. You'll join a team that includes experienced Account Managers and the Inside Sales team who will be a solid resource to you while you're in the field.
Your activities will include:
? Engaging in extensive customer contact to conduct sales and service activities, including developing strong customer relationships, introducing new products, identifying product applications, and keeping customers informed of product developments.
? Preparing quotations and proposals, following up and negotiating terms, and closing transactions.
? Utilizing promotions, campaigns, and business contacts to seek out prospective accounts, and then introducing the company and products, establishing and cultivating a contact, and analyzing the prospect's needs.
? Organizing and conducting training sessions for customers; surveying the market and competitive conditions; and completing reports regarding itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads and other information.
? Monitoring customer complaints, following up on outstanding orders, and making emergency calls, night calls, and deliveries as required.
If a customer is in a breakdown situation, we respond, meaning that you'll need to be flexible in your daily schedule.
This is not a work-from-home role. We'll look to you to stop in at the office in the morning to check email and gather materials, and then spend the majority of the day in the field.
Keys to Success
Our most successful sales professionals are those who acquire and maintain a solid knowledge of our products as well as of our customers' industries and applications for our products. To excel in this role you will exercise solid organization and time management skills, including following up and tracking lots of "loose ends" out on the road. You'll also take a proactive approach to growing the business, including increasing penetration in existing accounts and identifying and "landing" new prospects.
