Job Description:

The Merchant Relations Manager leads a team of Merchant Relations Specialists that is responsible for managing contract data and keeping all information associated with each participating merchant current.  Specialists complete the initial merchant boarding process which includes corresponding with newly-signed merchants to verify contract information, running test transactions and performing tests on bank accounts to confirm that all information is accurate.  Specialists communicate with web-based and retail merchants regularly to ensure their satisfaction.  The Manager is responsible for client retention and must have the ability to listen and decipher client needs in order to manage and maintain client relations.  The candidate must be able to think on their feet and use well-developed problem-solving skills to work with clients with questions or concerns related to their billing statement, marketing opportunities or the program in general.  The position requires the candidate to have good data analytic skills, with the ability to deliver regular and spontaneous reports to Sr. Management.  It involves collaborating with various departments including Sales, Marketing, Accounting and IT/OPS to coordinate effective execution of account maintenance.  It includes regular analysis of process flows and implementation of changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.  The Manager also acts as the recruiter and trainer of new hires.  This individual must be willing to work closely with teammates to achieve personal and team goals and be willing to stay late and work weekends on occasion to meet deadlines.
