Natural Gas Sales

Would you like to work for a company that has been in business since 1870 and delivers natural gas behind 33 local distribution companies in 11 states?  Sprague?s 136 years in business far surpasses most companies in the industry proving that we are here to stay.  Sprague is looking for a dynamic account manager to join our Natural Gas Sales team.  This position covers South Central New York and North East Pennsylvania. 

 

The ideal candidate will have experience selling natural gas to industrial and commercial accounts in a specified sales territory, as well as for making sales calls to new customers, obtaining new business and maintaining existing business.  The Account Manager will be responsible for growing the business in the defined territory consistent with the strategic growth plans of the company.  This person will also have in depth knowledge/experience of the following:

? LCD tariffs within the respective sales territory (balancing provisions, agency agreement requirements, and rates per service class)

? Information flow to gas operations regarding customer consumption of gas

? Processing all relevant paper work with home office inside sales support and gas operations (i.e., executing purchase and sales agreements, first-of-the-month nominations, and nomination changes).

? Securing credit information from prospective customers

 

This person must also keep abreast of gas and transportation costs in respective territory and of state and federal regulatory issues/changes.

 

Educational and skill requirements are:

 

? Bachelor?s degree with emphasis on business, engineering, or science disciplines

? Two to five years experience in natural gas marketing to industrials

? Knowledgeable in commodity risk management tools

? Knowledgeable in pipeline tariffs and transportation matters

? Strong computer proficiency

? Strong oral and written communication skills

? Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment and relate to customers/outside contacts and fellow employees.
