Outside Account Manager
Position: Outside Account Manager
Location: Mansfield, MA
Reports to: Sales
Position Objectives: Must proactively manage, develop, and maintain a set number of customers in a geographic territory. Ensure retention of existing customers by developing relationships within that territory and through excellent customer service. This position will be an integral part of the sales team in achieving net revenue goals and key sales objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for complying with Waste Management's policies, procedures, and sales initiatives
- Responsible for achieving budgeted revenue growth and market development.
- Manage existing customer base and prospect development
- Ensure that the image of the company is professional and ethically in compliance
- Analyze new and existing accounts, and develop opportunities to foster new business growth and enhance profitability of existing customer base
- Review, prepare, and deliver bids required from clients in assigned territory
- Develop and maintain solid customer relations as well as implement programs to increase satisfaction among accounts located in the assigned territory
- Service and maintain existing accounts in a proactive manner
- Update service agreements and initiate selective price increases as necessary
- Actively participate in the retention and recruitment efforts for customers in the assigned territory
- Complete administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Must possess a minimum of 2 to 3 years inside or outside sales experience in a waste, service utilities, environmental, or logistics industry and have experience negotiating sales agreements, and be able to demonstrate a track record of strong revenue growth and customer satisfaction
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- College Degree with a major focus in Business, Management, Marketing, etc. preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong PC skills
- Strong organization, presentation, and follow-through skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter with effective problem-solving skills
- Experience and/or knowledge of the waste industry and ethical sales practices
