Outside Sale Representative

American Metals is a full line steel distributor in West Sacramento.  We are looking for an outside sales rep for the Stockton, West Sacramento and Woodland areas.  If you have outside selling experience, we want to talk to you.  Experience in industrial sales or a related field is helpful but we will train you.

Your duties will include developing and maintaining profitable sales and promotion of our full range of products and services.  This includes maintaining and building desirable levels of business with established accounts as well as uncovering and developing new opportunities.

 

You will be responsible for:Representing American Metals with established and prospective customers in your territory.Notifying customers of market conditions and trends, such as price levels, lead times, new related technologies and potential cost saving opportunities. Cultivating working relationships with customer personnel at the appropriate and effective decision making level and sharing in the exchange of mutually beneficial information and opportunities.Managing your territory for maximum utilization of time and resources.Effectively communicating with various levels of management and internal customers.Customer entertainment.

 

You must be self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.  Excellent communications skills are essential to successfully interact with diverse personalities and you must have the ability to deal with confrontation in a controlled manner to assist in finding fair and equitable solutions. Math proficiency, attention to details and computer skills are important.  You must have a valid driver?s license and a driving record acceptable to our business auto insurer underwriting standards.
