Region Sales Manager

We are a dynamic, team oriented midsize manufacturer of flexible plastic packaging with multiple production facilities in the Midwest. We currently have an opportunity for a Region Sales Manager to join our Sales Team.

 

We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual to help take our company forward with new and existing business opportunities. We want someone with industry experience to manage and challenge sales personnel in individual geographic territories which make up the region of Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas.

 

The position reports to the General Manager of Sales & Administration and is based out of our Chicago (Carol Stream, IL) office.

 

THE COMPANY:

We have shown tremendous growth since our inception over 30 years ago. We are a full process manufacturer of plastic packaging serving multiple markets including but not limited to baked goods, ice, office products, plastic and paper cups and plates and produce. Production capabilities include blown film extrusions, flexographic printing, converting, centerfold/slitting with expansion plans into barrier films. Our innovative packaging capability provides a competitive edge in the market place. We also have a professional, in-house customer service team to support you.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Develops skill set and performance of direct employee reports Develop a working knowledge of systems and procedures in order to effectively execute the delivery of goods and services.Maintain and develop a client base in addition to supporting direct sales reports in their efforts to develop accounts in each assigned geography.Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.Occasional overnight travel is required.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 3-4 employees in the sales region.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Must have a minimum ten years industry experience in sales of plain and printed flexible polyethylene packaging. Knowledge of blown film extrusion, lamination, flexographic printing, bags and rollstock is required.

Compensation based on a base salary plus annual commission.
