Regional Program Manager - Dayton Product LIne - Northeast Region

Major Purpose: The Dayton RPM will have the role of "in-house??? manufacturer representative for Dayton brand motors, pumps, and HVAC. The Dayton RPM will be the Subject Matter Expert for the products covered by the Dayton brand, acting as first point of contact for Account Managers. The Dayton RPM will support the targeting and sales to high potential customers, focused on the metropolitan areas within the region they support. They will also collaborate with field leadership, to address reactively, major opportunities outside the metropolitan areas.

The Dayton RPM will support Account Manager communication and training as appropriate to the product lines. This communication and training will drive the benefits of increasing private label sales. It will detail the price, value, and choice for Dayton brand vs. National brands, and support the development of margin management, product portfolio mix management and solution selling.

The Dayton RPM will be responsible for achieving / exceeding the revenue goal for their product line for the region they support. They will work collaboratively to ensure the marketing program and tools support the business.

Major Responsibilities:

- Accountable for facilitating sales growth across the Dayton Brand in assigned regions to achieve predetermined sales goals.
- Responsible for achieving the GP goal across the Dayton Brand & the motor, pump & HVAC category in their respective region.
- Key market segment leadership in the targeting and penetration, including but not limited to contractors, small OEM's and manufacturers.
- Grow market brand equity of Dayton brand installed base.
- Utilize a consultative sales approach to determine customer needs and objectives to position Grainger as a preferred supplier of electromechanical products and services in support of the Field Sales organization.
- Act as the single point of contact to the customer as the "manufacturers' representative??? to assist in product application, selection and training.
- Communicate our Dayton private brand strategy to field sales and management.
- Schedule and facilitate Dayton private brand training and education for field sales and operations in assigned region.
- Maintain knowledge of current competitive information to assist field sales, marketing and product management in the development of program initiatives, goals and objectives.
- Work directly with product management and marketing to review product and service needs across our domestic customer base.
- Develop key relationships at senior levels internally and externally to increase awareness of private brand and integrated organizational planning.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

- Understands the organizational structure of Suppliers and their relationships to Grainger. Is capable of leveraging these relationships to maximum advantage for both parties.
- Possesses effective project management, planning and facilitation skills.
- Possesses effective time-management skills.
- Has a demonstrated ability to influence and persuade various levels of internal decision-makers.
- Has a demonstrated ability to sell at multiple levels in organizations.
- Posses thorough understanding on the given product category (electric motors, pumps, HVAC). Has strong product knowledge and market or industry knowledge and is capable of transferring that knowledge to others.


This role will be responsible for a Northeast region, from New York to Maine. Candidate can reside anywhere in the region but must be able to travel approximately 50%.
