Sales Director

Essential Baking Company, the northwest?s premier artisan organic bakery, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales Director.

 

Job Summary:

 

Manage Sales Department to effectively grow Company?s revenue by creating and maintaining relationships with key accounts, identifying and growing new business opportunities, determining product selection and costing, supervising sales staff and the daily functions of the department. 



 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Sales:Establish and coordinate sales policies, objectives and initiatives, manage sales staff in accordance with these.  Monitor sales reports for individual products, accounts, and sales representatives.Coordinate the development of sales tools, templates, proposals, & costing sheets.Assist with New Product Development (act as a liaison to the account, determine sales potential, analyze cost, coordinate nutritional analysis, & coordinate new product activation.)Mediate relationship between Sales needs and other Departments. Participate as a member of the Sales Team: identify, prospect, generate, qualify and close new business opportunities with key accounts.Negotiate and approve special orders, products, pricing/discounts and promotions. Monitor and maintain current business by anticipating needs, responding to potential threats and competition, meeting with key accounts, diagnosing and addressing issues to improve sales, responding to customer service and product quality issues.

 

Leadership and Management: Help to define and implement the Company?s vision and goals as a member of the management team, participating in company-wide decision-making. Work with the CFO to establish and manage the Sales Department budget.Conduct regular sales meetings.Negotiate terms, hire and manage outside brokers.Negotiate and manage relationships with outside distributors.Accompany sales staff, brokers and distributors on key sales calls.Hire, train and monitor performance of sales and customer service staff.

 

Qualifications:

 Minimum 5 years sales experience with at least two years in a supervisory role.Experience developing long and short-term sales strategy.BS/BA degree or equivalent and related work experience.Energetic, results oriented team player with effective leadership capabilities.Good communication skills with all levels of the organization.Strong problem solving abilities.
