Sales Manager/General Manager, Corporate Gifts, Incentives

COMPANY

 

The Company is a multi-million-dollar distributor of wine and wine products.  The company has a long history of success selling its products through corporate promotions, tasting events, in-home demonstrations and other personal service offerings.  The company offers custom wine accessories, personalized gifts and etching.

 

Expanding on its success, the company is continuously improving its market position through sales growth, but more importantly through new initiatives to address the growing interest in wine and wine products among a diverse market population.

 

ROLE

 

The organization is looking for an individual to lead its latest initiative, to formally create a corporate accounts division dedicated to dealing exclusively with corporate clients with corporate gifts, incentives and more.  The organization has experienced success in this area and is looking for an executive to build and lead the function within the organization.  PRP understands the need to build this function exclusive from other more traditional sales groups.  Therefore the individual leading this group will initially have full responsibility for success as an individual sales person, but also as a group leader and eventually a general manager of a growing division.

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

 

The successful candidate for this role will have at least three years of experience in a sales role or sales leadership role dealing with corporate customers.  The executive will have a record of leading others with demonstrable success in the incentives industry and in a price category similar to this role ($20+), applicable to all scales.

 

The ideal candidate would be located in the Chicago area, but it?s not absolutely necessary if the right individual were available.  The ability to succeed in this market from any location is certainly viable, particularly as the role oversees a national landscape. However, a close proximity to the company?s leadership in the Chicago vicinity would certainly be advantageous.

 

COMPENSATION

 

The successful candidate will be offered a base salary draw for 90 days coupled initially with a 5% commission.  At any time prior to the 90 day period, the executive has the opportunity to convert to the long term compensation program, based on much larger commission (20%) with no draw.  The initial base is somewhat flexible and can be adjusted for the right candidate.
