Establishes and maintains effective business relationships with assigned brokers within the market area to sell WellPoint health plan and specialty products. Uses technical expertise in negotiating rates and benefits both internally and externally.  Responsible for the achievement of, or exceeding, annual sales target as well as renewals of assigned accounts.

 Conducts sales presentations of products and proposals to prospective clients. Conducts informational and educational presentations relating to WellPoint products and services to brokers & consultants.  Establishes business development strategies to grow book of business. Keeps abreast of competitors' activities and provides competitive/ marketplace input to Sales Management Team.Formulates and defines market scope and business development strategies for assigned brokers & consultants to increase market penetration. Develops sales & renewal strategies to generate new sales of major accounts and retain & grow existing accounts. Participates in in-house group training programs of new or enhanced product lines. Performs other related duties as required



High level sales executive with proven successful track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding goals.Five plus years sales experience in the industry. Recent and/or current experience in the Houston large group medical & ancillary product marketplace is mandatory. Highly experienced with alternate funding plans (ASO).  Demonstrable success in selling consumer-directed and high deductible health plans. Demonstrable success in selling ancillary (life, dental, disability) group plans. Must have superior communication skills, which include written, presentation and interpersonal abilities.
