JOB DESCRIPTION

SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST

 

REPORTS TO:  Sales Operations Manager

STATUS:  Exempt

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  A support position whose responsibility is to provide timely, accurate and creative

information to sales leader(s) and customers of First Aid Only. Work independently with reps, existing accounts or prospects to qualify their needs, act upon requests and grow top line sales. Must be capable of functioning in a professional manner in a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities and customer types.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

 

Sales Support/Inside Sales  

?  Learn/monitor national retailer logistics systems, ensure First Aid Only compliance.

?  Manage regional accounts as assigned including seasonal/annual reviews, account maintenance and communication.

?  Qualification of new prospects utilizing the guidelines set forth.

?  Manage and aid in distributor conversion to First Aid Only.

?  Product expansion with selected assigned customers.

?  Execute product promotions with selected assigned customers.

?  Develop pro active programs with existing assigned customers.

?  Coordinate and/or attend sales and marketing events, insuring that all material and product to be displayed is accurate and meets all time constraints.

?  Gain an understanding of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) ? order flow, compliance, shipment coordination and troubleshooting.

 

Customer Service ?

?  Prompt and independent, daily interaction with customers to provide accurate and concise information relating to products, orders, industry, and/or competitive information.

?  Process customer inquiries via phone, fax or email in a timely manner with new and existing accounts.

?  Accurate, time sensitive order entry (as assigned)

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Sales support experience - Ability to balance sales leader(s) needs and customer demands while working within guidelines and policies set forth. Work with the sales leader(s) to understand, execute and complete tasks; be able to work independently and have the foresight to recognize and utilize all resources available.

  Understanding the sales process - Must possess an understanding of the sales process and our

means of distribution. Experience with, and understanding of distribution  processes a must i.e.; to national retailers, industrial/safety, and OEM channels.  Superior product knowledge is critical to this position?s success.  Previous EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) experience a plus.

  Verbal communication skills - The ability to verbally communicate accurately in a

  professional and tactful manner with a wide variety of personalities.

  Written communication skills ? The ability to draft various types of written

  correspondence from business letters, general email, to policy.  Accurate

  articulation of points, a professional ?look and feel?, and excellent spelling is a

  must in all communications. 

Computer skills ? Above average technical aptitude.  A minimum requirement of an intermediate skill level in the following Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point.  Strong data and file management discipline a must.  Proficient with Internet-based applications and online research.  Access knowledge a plus.

Organizational skills - Exceptional organizational skills a must.  Possess a high

  degree of self-discipline and the ability to complete duties with minimal

  supervision.  Must strive constantly for ever-increasing ways to improve both

  personal productivity and department processes.

  Attitude - Must demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude.  Expected to

  develop and maintain good working relationships with company personnel as

  well as customers.  The ability to remain positive and professional in the

  face of potentially challenging circumstances a must.

  Experience ? 3-5 years of related work experience.  First aid/safety products knowledge and   CPR/First Responder course completion a plus.

  Travel ? two or three trips per year possible.
