Sr. Sales Engineer, HUBS, Canada Gov't Region

Responsible for sales support for the NSG-Signaling, CSSG-Surveillance and Monitoring and SSG-Switching solutions to Federal, State and Local Government accounts on the HUBs, Canada and Government Sales Region Team. This position is required to assist sales people with daily customer activities such as, but not limited to: RFP/RFI follow-up, answering customer technical inquiries, engineering Signaling and Switching product solutions, investigating customer technical applications and account field support. This position is measured by achievement of the quarterly and annual Regional Sales Quota. Duties include customer product education, product seminars, presentations and assist for sales people. This position will work closely with the Sr. Sales Managers. Other duties as assigned. Compensation is per the 2006 Sales Compensation Policy provided to all Sales and Sales Engineering responsibilities Requires a BS/BA degree in Engineering/Marketing, or equivalent, and a minimum of 8 years industry experience. Sales and/or marketing experience is desired. Must have an excellent working knowledge of the NSG-Eagle STP, SS7 network architecture and network elements such as STP's and SCP's; CSSG-Sentinel and IAS Surveillance and Monitoring products and Services; and, SSG-T6000, T7000 and T9000 NGN switching architecture and product solutions. Previous experience working with Federal, Stat and Local Government accounts highly desired. Must possess good written and oral communication skills, display initiative, be a self-starter and have excellent interpersonal skills. The applicant must also have the ability to interface with working levels of customers, as well as internal Tekelec personnel for all aspects of the position
