This opportunity exists within the Pearson Achievement Solutions Organization. Pearson Achievement Solutions focuses on delivering customized solutions for school improvement, including comprehensive teacher professional development aligned with research, assessment and instructional programs, to schools and school districts. Central to its mission of student achievement and school change are the resources for program implementation and change management and the frameworks for evaluation to understand a school's readiness for change and to measure growth and progress.

The Strategic Account Executive (SAE) is a senior level sales executive responsible for developing and building long-term customer relationships with mid-size and large school districts within a defined territory. The SAE is responsible for developing and implementing a sales strategy to establish a multi-year agreement that will drive meaningful systemic change in teaching across the district through the adoption of our products and services. Working with the top administrators of the district, including the superintendent, deputy staff and board members, the SAE will work collaboratively within Achievement Solutions to coordinate access to subject-matter-experts, sales consultants, implementation staff, and program design and development to tailor the solutions necessary to fulfill substantially all of the district's professional learning and growth needs including incorporation of higher education degree and certification programs. Additionally, the SAE will be responsible for all contract negotiations with the client school district and will coordinate with the CFO on pricing to ensure all financial components are agreed upon in an acceptable expense to sales ratio. The SAE will carry a minimum first year quota of $1.5M in contract bookings and will be expected to grow the assigned territory to a minimum of $5M quota within four-years of assuming territory responsibility. The SAE will report to the VP of Sales, live within the assigned territory and should expect to travel 60 ' 75% of the time.

To qualify for this opportunity, you should possess:

'5+ years of proven strategic sales account management experience in education
'Proven record of working with education leaders to implement 'next generation' solutions
'Education industry knowledge plus recognition with key district and state education leaders
'Experience working with 'sales teams' and collaboratively with services organization
'Excellent oral and written communication skills
'Knowledge/experience with urban education
Skills:
'Understanding of market, curriculum, professional development and teaching environment
'Ability to develop, maintain and grow large and complex district accounts
'Ability to work in team environment and draw on internal resources effectively and productively
'Ability to communicate 'customer vision' and 'Achievement Solutions vision consistent with company services and product offerings
'Computer literate with solid Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email skills
