Strategic Account Manager

  GENERAL SUMMARY:

  Responsible for developing and continuously improving large account sales by using the Fluke Customer Database or other reference materials to research, select, and develop accounts with potential for large business opportunities for Fluke Networks products and coordinate strategic sales activities within those accounts.

 

  PRIMARY FUNCTION/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

a. Identify strategic accounts such as a large network service provider or large corporation with a mission-critical networking operation.  Must have investment in state-of-the-art networks and test and measurement products.  Usually have invested in FNET products at one or more location.

b. Coordinate strategic sales efforts focused on closing single sales objectives within strategic accounts.

c. Coordinate multi-location sales activities to develop large business opportunities.

d. Coordinate sales activities with Regional Sales Manager and appropriate Channel Partners.

e. May require teaming and coordination with Fluke Sales personnel in Europe, Canada, and ROW.

f. Penetrate and sell to very high levels of accounts.

g. Develop, implement, and monitor strategic plans.

h. Chair annual product requirement and technology meetings with each strategic account.

i. Act as liaison between strategic account and FNET division representing the customer?s solution requirements to Fluke and Fluke?s solution to the account.

j. Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

  JOB COMPLEXITY:

  Work is performed with a minimum of direction and supervision; has significant latitude in determining work objectives and goals.  Outside and inside contacts made with limited or no supervision on significant matters requiring tact and interpretation of the policies, procedures, and product information.  Erroneous decisions and/or failure to get results affects both short- and long-range corporate goals with a severe impact on profitability.

 

  SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS REQUIRED:  Ability to manage strategic account sales efforts.  Must be knowledgeable in legacy operational support systems such as LFACS, LMOS and WFA.  An OSS and systems sales background is required.  Experience in loop testing is preferred.  Excellent planning, organization, coordination, communication, and problem solving skills.  Ability to tactfully, yet assertively, deal with independent business people at all levels of organizations.  Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

 

  EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration with a minimum of five years in direct sales to AT&T(SBC) or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience with OSS and systems sales is required. 

 

  JOB CONDITIONS:

  Frequent travel and extended hours as required to cover large territory.  Candidate will work out of a home office and will ideally be located in the Texas area.
