Job Description
The Territory Account Manager position requires the ability to create and leverage a multi-channel distribution network, across multiple states, to drive purchasing decisions at a hospital or medical facility. Individuals in this position will be working both in conjunction with Planar distributors and on their own to create opportunities, sell Planar value and to secure the order. The ideal candidate will be capable of optimizing the multiple channels in their territory, to create the broadest reach possible without damaging any partner relationships. This will require a high level of strategic positioning and social savvy to create and maintain credibility with these key players. Territory Account Managers are measured on the ability to meet revenue and gross margin goals for the region.
DutiesActively pursue hospital opportunities, directly with hospital decision makers and personally follow up on every bid/quote, to achieve regional revenue goals.Create and leverage relationships with local PACS focused sales representatives in the region, to build mindshare and drive allegiance to Planar. Develop a sales funnel to grow MBU revenues in the assigned region.Provide demo and sales support to all distributors in the assigned region, ensuring that Planar's value is sold and understood.Represent the MBU at regional tradeshows, customer events and other customer facing opportunities.Sell and evangelize Planar's value proposition, and effectively leverage sales tools to sell against top competitors.Work with Planar's partners to ensure customer needs are understood and quotes are accurate for configuration required.Work closely with MBU Marketing team to effectively carry Planar's value to the market, providing customer feedback.
QualificationsMinimum 3 years experience in working with hospital/clinic purchasing and administration.College degree in Business or related field required. Demonstrated ability to develop and leverage relationships and networks to drive results. Track record of demonstrated personal success selling.Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a multi-state territory effectively and efficiently.Demonstrated strong communication skills, oral, written and presentation skills.Formal sales training.Prior experience calling on hospital decision makers requiredDemonstrated ability to deliver results in fast paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Email applications required.
OtherTravel required at least 60% of the time. Travel will primarily be within assigned region and will often be day trips, but will require travel by both air and car. Will require travel to MBU headquarters in Boston, MA twice annually, and may require travel to Planar corporate Headquarters in Portland, OR. Will require travel to support national trade shows 3 to 5 times per year.Must be located within 25 miles of a major airport in Southern California.Will be required to work from home office.
