Pre-Sales Consultant IV (Storage)

The Technology Solutions Group (TSG) sales organization delivers a unique customer experience and  recognizes the value provided by the presales storage expert. The Storage Consultant is an expert in their technical product/solution area, partners with the HP account team, typically for multiple accounts, to create profitable business in the storage solution portfolio. Provides in-depth technical knowledge. Primarily interfaces with the customer's technology leaders, through high-level technical/solutions expertise. Some vertical segment knowledge is required for some opportunities.

This position will be home-officed. Strongly prefer Fairfield County, CT proximity; other alternatives in Tri-State area or Marlborough, MA. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-qualified presales support of entire StorageWorks Division (SWD) offering, meeting or exceeding assigned quota with balanced performance.
Strong "trusted advisor" relationships; programmatic expansion of the relationship with accounts
Review of configurations developed by Sales and Partners
Knowledgeable in all SWD Product/Solutions areas; expert status in targeted areas (SME)
Thorough knowledge of competitors & HP differentiation
Strong presentation skills

Extended evaluations & onsite support & adept hands-on skills including installation, integration, tuning & performance testing with SC Mgr approval
Product roadmaps presentations not covered by TCC's & Sales
Architecture design & consultation
Provide leadership in storage area for RFP responses and large/complex programs and opportunities
Ability to develop and design the technical strategy and architecture
Represents HP on bid team that may include partners, systems integrators and resellers
Closed-loop project management & communication to all constituencies to the appropriate level
Trial program leadership

Providing beta support & engineering feedback of critical needs; provide competitive & enhancement feedback to Sales & SWD
HP Services facilitation, integration, & transition
Reseller & channel event support

Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree or equivalent experience preferably in technical field
Sound technical knowledge (SAN Architectures, UNIX, NT, Networking, Hardware, mission Critical- High Availability Concepts)
10+ years experience in the Storage pre-sales function
Excellent customer and communication and presentation skills
