job description

You are the recognized storage expert in multiple technical storage product/solution areas. You partner with the HP account team to create profitable business in the storage solution portfolio.  You provide in-depth technical knowledge to the sales effort and primarily interface with designated customer technical leaders through high-level technical/solutions expertise.  Must be able to travel up to 25%.

key responsibilities:

o Provides presales support for the entire HP storage portfolio, meeting or exceeding assigned quota with balanced performance.
o Build and maintain strong "trusted advisor" relationships with customers
o Create or lead the creation of detailed configurations for opportunities
o Knowledgeable in all HP storage product/solutions areas; expert status in targeted areas
o Thorough knowledge of competitors & HP differentiation
o Strong presentation skills
o Provide support for extended evaluations; adept hands-on skills including installation, integration, tuning & performance testing with Mgr approval
o Provide product roadmaps presentations not delivered by Storage Sales Specialist
o Provide architecture design & consultation
o Provide leadership in storage area for RFP responses
o Ability to develop and design technical strategy and architecture
o Closed-loop project management & communication to all constituencies
to the appropriate level
o Provide beta support & engineering feedback of critical needs; provide competitive & enhancement feedback to Sales & HP storage division
o HP Services facilitation, integration, & transition



your profile


 


? Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree or equivalent experience preferably in a technical field


? Sound technical knowledge and experience including storage, networked storage solutions, SANs and SAN infrastructure, SAN management, data protection software and concepts, operating systems (UNIX, Microsoft Windows), networking, hardware, mission critical environments and high availability concepts


? Excellent customer, communication, and presentation skills
