Job Description: Storage Solutions Group XP Consultant

 

Position Summary: 

 

Provides hands-on expertise for complex or emerging storage products and solutions and apply the resources to complex sales campaigns until all buying barriers are removed.  Creates a customer perception of depth/breadth in critical competitive opportunities.

 

 

Reports to:  Americas Storage Presales Director

 

Key Responsibilities: 
Provides deep technical expertise in filling gaps for HP's XP Product Family
Support key strategic opportunities in Corporate and Enterprise Accounts only in conjunction with assigned Sales and Presales Storage Resources
Leads pre-sales technical solution integration where appropriate
Capable of quickly switching between strategic and tactical sales engagement.
Has strong presentation and executive communication skills
Maintains strong NSS Division linkages and serves as technical extension of the product division in complex solutions
Deployment not limited by account or geography
Support Investment and Cost Recovery Initiatives where appropriate
Deep technical expertise in specific emerging storage solutions that is leveraged across multiple sales segments.
Facilitate ongoing technical and emerging storage solutions knowledge transfer to Storage SA field organization and customers.
Recommend and implement complex solutions in multi-vendor environments as part of a proof of concept engagement.
Continually enhances product and associated solutions knowledge as new products are introduced
Providing beta support & engineering feedback of critical needs; provide competitive & enhancement feedback to Sales & NSS
HP Services facilitation, integration, & transition
Works closely with the field account teams on identified and prioritized opportunities as dictated by the established sales plan (TAS)

Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree or equivalent experience preferably in technical field
Deep technical knowledge of HP XP or Hitachi equivalent products

Excellent customer and communication and presentation skills
Strong sales & negotiation skills
Customer facing skills
Ability and willingness to motivate and support other consultants
Resilience and resourcefulness when solving complex problems
Ability to present proposals persuasively
Excellent team skills.
